A player held a Donkey Kong record for only 6 hours

The all-time Donkey Kong world record was beaten twice in less than a day, during the Donkey Kong Online Open 2015 tournament.

Player Wes Copeland had registered a score of 1,170,500 which, if verified, would have taken the title away from Robbie Lakeman. However, only 6 hours later, Lakeman returned to beat it and achieved 1,172,100 points, the highest ever on an arcade cabinet (the only higher score recorded has been on emulation).

Still, Copeland would regain the title on January 4th, 2016, scoring an amazing 1,190,000. This time, Lakeman couldn’t repeat the feat.
