Fanta was created because of the nazis

Fanta was born “thanks to” the difficulties Coca-Cola faced when trying to import their product into Nazi Germany during World War II.

The workaround Max Keith, the head of Coca-Cola Deutschland, came up with was to create a new product specifically for the German market, containing ingredients available in said country.

The brand name comes from German “Fantasie”.
