Game of Thrones is written on a ’90s computer

In an interview with Conan O’Brien, Game of Thrones’ creator George R. R. Martin, confessed that while he’s writing (which is most of the time) he stays away from the web and from new technologies.

George stated that he writes his famous novels with a DOS-based computer with no internet connection; he even mentioned he uses the WordStar 4.0 processor (a mid-nineties processor).

Martin’s main reason is based on the simplicity of the program, together with the extra protection of not being connected to the internet.

The author also claims that if he were to perish before finishing the last novel, there are guidelines so someone can continue his work.
