That’s a bold statement but most American presidential historians agree that Abraham Lincoln was the best president in the history of the United States.
This is according to a survey by C-SPAN which polled 91 presidential historians. James Buchanan came in last place, beating out William Henry Harrison, who only served for 31 days.
The survey ranked the former leaders on 10 “attributes of leadership” which included “crisis leadership”, “moral authority”, and “economic management”, among others.
Washington, F. D. Roosevelt, T. Roosevelt, and Eisenhower completed the Top 5.
