We lose 40% of our senses of smell and taste on a plane

If every time you travel, you feel like the food served on a plane is bland or unappetizing (or plain, wink wink), you’re absolutely right but it’s actually your body’s fault and not the airline’s.

Our normal senses of taste and smell are reduced by approximately 40% when we travel due to different factors such as lack of humidity and lower air pressure.

And most of the time, even though you think it’s due to the taste, it’s mostly your sense of smell that’s failing.
