Al Pacino could have played Han Solo

Al Pacino turned down the iconic part of Han Solo in the Star Wars films over what he described as a “confusing script”.

He told MTV at the Toronto Film Festival a couple of years ago that he remembers not understanding it when he read it.

I was in The Godfather. They didn’t care if I was right or wrong for the role, if I could act or not act.

He described his decision as “another missed opportunity” but he wasn’t the only actor (now star) considered before Harrison Ford took the role: Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Burt Reynolds, and James Caan (who was also in The Godfather Part 1) were all approached.

Can you imagine Nicholson playing Solo?
