The perfect nap lasts for 26 minutes

Air traffic controllers in the US were advised to take 26-minute naps after a string of incidents involving workers falling asleep. But why exactly 26 mins?

A 1995 study from NASA stated that a nap that long would improve performance by 34% and alertness by 54%. However, some experts believe it’s too much time and the risk of you falling into a deep sleep is too high so they recommend combining it with a cup of coffee so you have some caffeine, which takes about 20 minutes to kick in.
