Time Magazine named the computer “Man of the Year” in 1982

“Person of the Year” (previously, “Man/Woman of the Year”) is an annual issue of Time magazine that features a person, group, idea, or object that “for better or for worse… has done the most to influence the events of the year“.

That’s why some of their choices have been controversial. For example, Hitler or Stalin.

However, one of the strangest was “The computer”, chosen when the award was still given to the “Man of the Year”, one year after Ronald Reagan.
