The Waltons are the richest family in the world

The Waltons are the richest family in the world: its members (Rob, Jim, Alice, Lukas, Christy, and Nancy) control half of the largest retail company, Walmart, founded in 1962 by Sam Walton.

Their combined wealth is superior to that of tech moguls like Jeff Bezos or Bill Gates, and even bigger than the GDP of some countries, such as Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, or Ecuador.

They’re followed by the Koch and Mars families.

Alice Walton, the only daughter of the founder of the Walton empire, is currently the richest woman in the world with $41.3 billion.
